The first stage of the process was to have a preliminary inspection at the clients house where Client, Occupational Therapist, ACC case manager and myself discussed the scope of work for the project. At the en of the preliminary stage I submitted a meeting report along with a preliminary set of drawings for Enable NZ to authorised in collaboration with the ACC case manager appointed. Once the preliminary design was authorised, we proceed to produce Building Consent and Tender Drawings, apply for BC with the relevant council and call out for tenders within the authorised local builders for the specific project. At the end of this stage I submitted the tender drawings, tender proposals with my reviews and building consent I necessary. The following is an example of tender drawings.
When needed I also managed variations. The most common scenario was when the client, ocupational therapist of ACC case manager requested further alterations. In this case I estimated the cost of the variation, submit a report to Enable NZ, and if authorised liaised with contractors, clients and authorites. Due to the large number of projects. I was mostly coordinating the resources working in each specific project. However, now and then I was able to produce preliminary and tender drawings for very simple projects. The following is an example of a tender drawing I draft for a simple project.
Finally, Once construction was completed. A final inspection was organised for me to inspect the project for compliance with building codes ad well as confirming with clients, occupational therapists and ACC case managers that the modification addressed the client's injury related need properly. At the end of this final inspection I submitted a report in which the project is signed off or further action is requested such as remedial work or additions to the scope of work.
